Robyn's E News 25 Mar 09

Hi All,

The news is the Super Sprint race went off well at the weekend. Our short distance events always attract a crowd. A big thank you to President John Thyne who was stand in RD for this one. Also a big thank you to all those who assisted on the day. With that many competitors there is always a lot to do behind the scenes and while you were all still tucked up in bed before, or kicking back with coffee after, John and the other volunteers were out there making the race happen for you.

The juniors finish their season this weekend. Head on down to Lake Alexander on Sunday to help out &/or encourage our next generation triathletes. Juniors have had a bumper season - congratulations to the Junior Committee members and interested parents for making it all happen so well for the kids.

OTHER NEWS:

1. The Geelong Challenge, 5 April, includes the last Olympic Distance qualifier for ITU World Champs. Don’t sit on the sidelines while your rivals secure valuable points in what will be a far smaller field. Geelong is set to be an enjoyable race in its own right – a single loop swim alongside a marina with direct access to transition; a fast, single 40km loop on the bike; and a scenic two-loop run along the foreshore. Take no chances – and end your selection campaign with no regrets! Check out the Geelong Challenge at www.challengeseries.org.au.

2. Congratulations to proud parents Dan & Laila on the arrival of baby Benjamin Daniel McIntyre Born 14:48, 21/03/09 at Darwin Private Hospital, Weight: 3.4kg & Length: 53cm

3. The entries for Arafura Games Triathlon are coming in. Thanks to those already registered. If you need to see instructions again, they are posted on the club website on Robyn's E News section (as are back E News editions).

4. Some of your email addresses reject anything with attachments so apologies to anyone who finds they may have missed out on this E News. I try and resend minus the attachment if this happens but I'm time strapped today.

5. I'll be catching up on items of interest over next couple of E News including more on Arafura.

Safe training,
Cheers
Robyn
