OTHER NEWS:

1. Australia's team for ITU World C'ship round 1 in Sydney next weekend has been announced: Emma Moffatt, Felicity Abram, Emma Jackson, Felicity Sheedy-Ryan and Brad Kahlefeldt, Courtney Atkinson, Peter Robertson, Greg Bennett will line up. Injury/illness cloud over Emma Moffatt & Courtney.

2. Date for Ironman Australia and Ironman Port Macquarie 70.3 is 1 May 2011. Interesting to see that entry validation no longer required.

3. Has anyone else noticed the guy who runs pushing a wheelbarrow full of bricks? On his days off wheelbarrow pushing, he rides his bike. Why? He says for cardio fitness !

4. The tentative bike course for the Asia-Pacific 70.3 at Phuket has riders dismounting their bikes and walking up a ramp & over a footbridge to cross the highway (twice).

5. Weekend form: Charlie Birk has been doing some serious cycling medal collecting in Alice Springs; Tilly & Tara were drafting off Caelan; Korgan Hucent made Lee Point laps look easy; Debbie Geertshuis was plagued by punctures and Brian Gallagher was eating raisin toast.

6. Media Hound: Not on the cover this time, but Chad Anderson does feature in the new edition of Intensity magazine.

7. ITU has introduced ranking points for each of the swim, bike and run legs over the 2010 series. Athletes must complete the event to be eligible for points. After the Grand Final in Budapest, prize money for the top male and female swimmer, biker and runner will be awarded as follows: Position Prize Money: 1 $5,000 2 $3,000 3 $2,000 . Maybe that's an idea for us for 2010/11 !

8. Andrew and Tambra Simpson are back in town. Andrew needed a barra fishing fix.

9. "Super domestique" Ron Griep managed 320km for his team in the Murray2Moyne.

10. Penny Nolton was cheering like a crazy woman for the guy in the CycleZone outfit thinking he was from Darwin, then realised there is also CycleZone Mooloolaba. Penny says hi to all.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...

... your washing consists mainly of lycra
... you have tan lines in the weirdest places
... you spent at least some of the Easter break looking up tri websites

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
