Robyn's E News 7 April 2010

Photo by Alex: Race 2 Sprint

Hi All,

There is an air of excitement surrounding Sunday's event, Race 3 of both the Sprint & Women's Series (Incorp NT Sprint Distance Championships).

We are predicting we will have another bumper field. Please assist our fantastic volunteers by arriving early to get racked, registered & body marked.

Definitely NO registrations will be taken after 6.40am as volunteers also need to get set up to race.

If you would like to avoid the registration line up on Sunday, I will have rego sheets at swimming at Nightcliff pool tomorrow. Bring correct change & see me prior to pool opening or after the session.

Presentations will take place after the event and we encourage you all to stay around to socialise and congratulate our winners. Post race refreshments will be provided & if weather permits, we are hoping to put on a BBQ with the assistance of our sponsors.

Event sponsor Ray White Darwin is providing a race bag of goodies for members (numbers are limited so make sure you are early) as well as special prizes for male & female winners.

3. And on that .. don't forget to send in (read "dob" in) your nominations for Dag of the Year and/or Bike Crash of the Year. All nominations remain confidential and are not revealed until Presentation Night. So email them to darwintriclub@bigpond.com now before you forget.

4. Following on from declaring Darwin the glass capital of the world, here's how to report problems:

The NTG DPI website has a ‘report a fault’ service:

For roads, includes potholes, tree branches, litter (glass) etc:
http://www.cyclewaynetwork.nt.gov.au/transport/ntroads/faults/roads/index.shtml

If there is a problem with a cycle path:
http://www.cyclewaynetwork.nt.gov.au/transport/ntroads/faults/cyclepaths/index.shtml

Best time to report is as soon as riders get home while they’re still miffed about having to repair yet another punctured tube!

Others who have made reports via this site have noticed action happens very promptly. If the road/path is not in NTG DPI jurisdiction they should direct you to whose it is.

5. I have a copy of the registration form for the Kununurra Triathlon. Interested? Email and I will forward.

6. We may see a few "old" faces in the line up on Sunday.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...

... a great deal of the Easter break was spent online looking at bikes, tri equipment & event details
... you looked forward to a well earned sleep in only to be up, bright eyed at busy tailed, at 5.30am
... you did an "extra" ride over the long weekend

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
