Hi All,

You can have your say too by completing the survey located at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/parapmasterplan . The club would like to see a pathway suitable for bikes around the complex so that the area can be used as a site for junior triathlon and aquathlons. It may help if those doing the quick survey also mention this in their comments.

6. Greg Kahl was rummaging through his cupboards looking for an NT flag and hoping to make it down to Busselton over the weekend.

7. Word is that entry for Ironman Australia (1 May 2011) reached almost 65% full within a couple of hours of opening. Note new website: www.ironmanaustralia.com

8. Bark Hut Classic 78km handicap cycle takes place 16 May 2010. More details: http://www.darwin.cycling.org.au/

9. Some feedback re Channel Island Road use during shut down: On Saturday morning, three cyclists were seen (!) riding outbound (towards the power station). They all had headlights fitted that were so strong, they could almost be mistaken for cars. They were also riding behind each other and sticking to the side of the road. A passing motorist said it looked as if they had aero bars fitted, indicating that they were triathletes out on their Saturday morning 'hit-out'. They also all had working tail lights fitted.

The three cyclists were then mentioned during the Saturday Night pre-start meeting at the plant; but this time in a positive way.

Generally, there have been very few bicycles on Channel Island Road over the last few weeks following the warnings about increased traffic and hearing about that little group setting the standard with regards to (bike specific) road rule compliance is good feedback. It's great that the Darwin Triathlon Club and its members on the road, are leading the way.

10. Thanks to all contributors to E News, much appreciated.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...
