NOTE FROM YOUR COMMITTEE:

1. We are justifiably proud of our ability to stage high quality, low cost triathlon & related events on behalf of our members. We do this via our club's long standing volunteering culture & the generosity of many of our members who donate time, effort, equipment, & admin services etc. Every facet of the club including our race directors, equipment towing, timekeepers, registration, committee, E News, website etc etc is done by volunteer effort.

2. We welcome people wishing to "tri" the swim, bike, run experience by offering a one day membership.

3. Please note that this courtesy is extended for one (perhaps two) events only, after which we ask & encourage you join our club. (Easy can be done online - see link below).... let's face it, if you come back after the first take you are well on the way to being hooked on 3 x the fun !

4. We also provide plenty of post race refreshments at each of our events. There is normally more than enough for all competitors and volunteers to enjoy.

5. Drinks left over at events are able to be stored for use at another event. Somewhat disappointing to hear that some members are taking a supply of drinks home. If you see someone doing this, it would be appreciated if you could please let them know that we save unused drinks for our next event.

3. Justin Tranter also racing in Newcastle in the ADF Championship category.

4. A group also heading for Singapore this weekend including Daryl Stanley, Emma Winterflood, Jane Marie Kerslake, Simon Cruickshank, Phil Blumberg, Phil Brownscombe, Vincent Gilley, Bob Martin, James Geddes, Sue Parora, Nicola Hoey and Michelle Gailey. They will be in action at Ironman 70.3 Singapore. Good luck to all competitors.

5. I like the new look Tim Lewis. Tim's shave down also raised funds for charity. Well done Tim.

6. Alison Croser was 10th overall female at Ironman China.

7. Media Hound: See attached pdf "Territory triathletes shine in China".

8. Uploaded a shed load of photos from the Palmy event to Flickr (link below) this morning. Easiest way to view is to click on the set (Right hand side) and view the thumbnails then click on any you want to see enlarged.

9. Want a better quality copy of a photo ... email me and I'm happy to forward (size usually reduced on upload to Flickr).

10. Hate a photo ... email me and I'm happy to delete.

11. Mooloolaba is just 11 sleeps away for Angelika Hannon, Kyle Gear, Brian Hannon & Chad Anderson. Monica Stewart also competing in a team. Anyone else?

12. Ditto Ironman Australia. I'm 99.9% sure we don't have anyone at IM OZ for the first time in forever. Suggest we are going to have to adopt Rob Foxley-Conolly who trained up here with us for a couple of months. Honorary DTC for the day !

13. Midweek form guide: Sue Parora's cough is not good; Monica Stewart is galloping around Dripstone Cliffs with ease; Pete Svara might rejoin .. he's been spotted swimming; Simon Cruickshank was cranking on the mtb and Tim Ellison is walking fast.

14. Look for E News in your inbox later next week.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...

... you are post Ironman and substitute carrots and snap peas for chocolate and lollies
... you know when lycra has past its use by date
... you can peel and eat a banana while running

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn

9. Dave was attacked by a rock wielding man near Kooringal flats the day he was to fly out & suffered a badly bruised arm. He reported the incident to police. They obviously didn't find the man as NT News reports this morning that a similar attack happened at the same location yesterday with a member of the public stepping in to save a terrified tourist.

10. Baby Sparrow attended her first triathlon yesterday ! Wasn't a good day for dad Todd who punctured on the bike.

11. The lead car took some of the pros in the Abu Dhabi Triathlon off course during their 200km bike. Ouch.

... you raced yesterday and are still looking forward to your training today
... you are at a formal function, check the time and realise you have your running watch on (and you don't bat an eyelid).

Safe Training,
Cheers,
