OTHER NEWS:

1. Looking for a trip with a difference. Since January 2009 a group has run 4 cycle adventures for over 40 riders on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. In the coming year they plan to run four more trips (South Sulawesi, Toraja Land and Central Sulawesi). These trips are led by a bilingual, bicultural Australian and they feature cultural immersion, language instruction, Yoga and lots of water activity. Sound interesting? full info at http://www.cycleindonesia.com.au/

2. Well done Graeme Parsons! He has managed to get extra age groups included for next year's Bintan International Triathlon after a few persuasive emails were sent to race organisers.

3. Those with TdF sleep deprivation can now rest easy.

4. The Darwin Surf Life Saving Club Beach Ball is on Sat 4 Sept 2010. Tickets for what promises to be a spectacular event that will blow the socks off everyone that attends are available for $130 from Julie 8941 2652 or Robyn 0407 894 514 (another Robyn, not me). It will be a great night of entertainment, fabulous food and atmosphere and a fitting tribute to finish off the Dry Season in style under the stars.
5. Our new season calendar has been posted to the club website and will be available around town soon. Thanks to our calendar sponsors CycleZone, 6/41 Cavanagh St, Darwin, Fitness Works, 69 Progress Drive, Nightcliff and K9 Cycles, cnr Totem Rd & DeLatour St, Coconut Grove.

6. Many of our members took their families along to the Show. I hear the Dora showbags were the must have item and that Bananas in Pyjamas are very big and quite scary when you are a tiny tot.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...

... the first three items on your grocery list are Gatorade, power bars, and gels.
... your legs move in a cycling motion while you are asleep.
... your racing bibs look like a numerical wallpaper pattern

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
