HAVE YOU VOLUNTEERED YET?

There are many ways you can assist at club events on race day:

1. This is a very easy race day task, and it's one that anyone can do ... Rubbish removal. There are garbage bags in the race box. Rubbish usually accumulates around the post race refreshment table or near the esky. An easy task to volunteer for is to make sure the rubbish is taken over to one of the many bins. This can be progressive. As soon as you notice a box or bag full, feel free to take it over to a bin.

2. Your assistance here would be of great benefit to those out collecting signs, buoys etc post race. Some of the last to leave after an event are also the first to arrive. If you could do little tasks like take rubbish to the bins it will get those people home much quicker.

FOR SALE / WANTED ETC:

1. FOR SALE: A $150 credit note at NT Spokes, just don't think I'll get to use it. Sell for $120. Contact Nic: 0402 838 152

2. WANT TO HEAR FROM: Anybody heading down to Tour Down Under and interested in finding accommodation. I'm booked to fly from 19th - 22nd and registered to do the 135km community challenge. Contact Nicola: 0402 838 152

3. Items for next E News by 8pm tomorrow please.

OTHER NEWS:

1. Can you believe Channel 10 yesterday afternoon. They advertised cereal brand ironman, switched to Kona 2010 coverage for awhile and then went back to cereal brand ........ how frustrating was that !!!

2. Word is that Loie Sharp (Alice Springs Triathlon Club) won her age group at the Aust Sprint Champs ... results yet to be published.

3. Rob Weatherald is strutting his stuff down south ... he had another age group win at the JT Cycles Triathlon

4. Must be the weather. The busiest places in Darwin over the weekend seemed to be the dump, Bunnings and the Good Guys (driers the big sellers of course).

5. Greg Kahl recently did the Rockingham Tri in WA. He finished in 1.09.40. Greg reports that Jensen Button (2009 F1 Champion) who smashed it in 1.01.38 was a short fellow, very polite and quick on the run.

6. The Australian Road Cycling Championships have been done and won. Male winner: Jack Bobridge and Female winner: Alexis Rhodes Watch for extended highlights from 4pm Sunday on SBS

7. All cycling eyes now turn to SA for the Tour Down Under starting 16 January. SBS again the channel to watch

8. Still on holidays? Enjoy .. it's pretty wet in Darwin.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN ...

... nothing feels as good as being ridiculously freaking fit
... asked how old you are, you answer, "I go up an age group next season"

... wanting directions or assistance you approach the first person you see in a tri t-shirt or carrying a water bottle.

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
