Now that Arafura is done and dusted we can start thinking Finlay's NT Long Course Triathlon at Lake Bennett. Online registration will open soon for this event scheduled for 21 August 2011.

OTHER NEWS:

1. There should be some more stork news soon.

2. Great to see our visitors from Alice Springs and Katherine in action (and on the podium) at the Arafura Games Triathlon.

3. Our overseas competitors enjoyed their Arafura Games experience. Many are still in Darwin so you may bump into them again.

4. The Youth Teams category was introduced for the first time at these games. It was great to see our own NT team do so well. Don't be surprised if these juniors aren't back competing as individual competitors in two years time.

5. We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to get out there and view all the fantastic sports action associated with the Arafura Games. Some of our members are participating in swimming and athletics events, good luck to those involved.

6. I'll get some photos from the weekend up on Flickr asap.

7. Media hound: The triathlon got good TV Coverage. There are also photos at: http://tools.ntnews.com.au/photo-gallery/photo_gallery_popup_preview.php?category_id=3811&offset=2; and see article attached.

8. Does anyone know who the swimmer is in the article? I was betting on Simon Weise but he wasn't in that wave.

9. And speaking of Simon. On behalf of DTC committee, he and Phill Hatty met with Darwin City Council late last week to discuss Lake Alexander issues. Our calendar for next season is currently being reviewed and the issues with water quality at Lake A will obviously impact there. The committee is also speaking to the Waterfront Corporation with a view to conducting additional events at that location.

10. News is out that Ironman China and the 70.3 have been reduced to a ride/run. I wonder what that means for ITU Worlds scheduled for Beijing?

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN ...

since Sunday you have been reviewing your performance and next Arafura Games Triathlon
...you don't just want to finish
...you don't just want to finish strong
...you want to finish & be on the podium!
...and you know that means the hard work has just begun.

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
