1. Family Fun & Fit Day - Sunday 1 June 2008 - Lake Alexander Hey Kids, here is your chance to be a real triathlete for a day! KidFit tri is on again, designed especially for you ! This year, there will also be a "Family Fun Walk", "Life Be in it.' NT's 'Life Games' activities and Come 'n' Try events for the whole family to get involved! This is the only event of its kind in Australia and we want you there to make it the best!

1. Congratulations to Emma & Aaron on the arrival of their baby daughter, Ashlee Jane Caden. Mother & daughter doing well, Dad yet to come back to earth.
2. Ali Fitch is on The Big Island training hard. Ali will compete in the Ironman 70.3 Hawaii this weekend as a training hit out for Ironman USA Coeur d'Alene in Idaho 22 June 08.
3. An exciting finish to Ironman 70.3 Austria - apparently Bjorn Andersson (3.56.52) was in the lead until last 100m.
4. Monica Stewart and Ceinwyn Whittaker will shortly head for Vancouver for the ITU Age Group World Triathlon Championships (Olympic Distance). We take this opportunity to wish them both great racing in their respective age groups. News is - it's cold.
5. ITU reports that Javier Gomez of Spain delighted his home crowds winning the Madrid BG Triathlon World Cup, the historic 200th in ITU history. He becomes just the fourth man to win ten world cup titles, joining the exclusive group that includes Brad Beven, Hamish Carter and Simon Whitfield. The win also extended his incredible world cup podium streak to 16 races.
6. As part of law week, David DeSilva a local solicitor is running a free seminar "Legal Considerations for Sporting Clubs" Thursday night (29 May 08) at the Jury Muster Room of the Supreme Court 5.30 - 7pm. DTC members are welcome to attend. If you would prefer, channel any questions to Matt Hubber who will be attending on behalf of Triathlon NT.
7. You may have seen references to Body Glide in overseas magazines. Body Glide is now available at CycleZone. Part of it's claim to fame is protection against chafing, blisters and skin irritation & it's safe for use with clothing, plastics, rubber which means its suitable for wetsuits, shoes etc.
8. Another reminder for those doing the Ultra that organisers would like everyone to pre register. Closing date is the 18 June 08 , otherwise there will be a late fee of $20. Competitors can enter online, www.katherine-ultra-challenge.com There is a lot to organise, catering etc, and most of the event helpers are also competing so they don't want to be up late the night before, finalising entries.
