The event is located at Lake Alexander, costs are $10 for the 5km and $15 for the 10km. For more information log onto the Athletics NT website www.ntathletics.org.au and follow the links, contact 8945 1979 or see attached entry form.
2. The driver who cleaned up Chad Anderson earlier this year was in court yesterday. She was fined $1000 for driving while unlicensed, not giving way and driving without due care.
3. It's hard to keep a keen triathlete down. John Thyne was spotted out jogging on Monday evening after falling heavily in the race on Sunday.
4. Our Hawaii bound athletes have less than 4 weeks until their big day out. Nikki Roddie is currently in Europe and doing sight seeing runs and rides. Ian is proving to be the ideal training partner and could probably race as well. Stu Fitch is in mainland USA and soon to head to the Big Island. Stu should be raring to go after months of fulltime training. Me, I'm still trying to kick a post flu wheezy chest and associated cough - just a small added challenge.
5. And those heading for ITU Long Distance World Championships in Perth are about 6 weeks away. Craig Garland, Mick Outhred, Daryl Stanley, Jodie McLeod, Michelle Gailey and Dave McLeod are feeling the excitement build. All looking good.
6. Many of our club members are becoming seasoned globe trotters. They are looking at various overseas events coming up including Ironman Malaysia, Ironman China, Bali International Triathlon, Ironman 70.3 Singapore, Vietnam Triathlon as well as home soil events such as Gold Coast Half Ironman, Canberra Half Ironman, Ironman Western Australia and Ironman Australia.
7. Club uniform Orca swim gear should be arriving early next week. A couple of people are yet to pay, can you please transfer funds asap.
8. I'm hoping to get photos from the weekend up on Flickr today.
YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...
... you check with your coach before setting a wedding date.
... you buy every special event item available
... you dream that one day there will be a great swim photo of you without goggle circles around your eyes
Cheers,
Robyn

OTHER NEWS:
1. Congratulations to Mark Anzin who is now officially a fireman. He was awarded the Physical Fitness award for his intake. Mark graduated last week.
2. A few people have asked about qualification for the ITU World Aquathlon Championships. Official answer "Exception to Qualification Criteria: There are no Qualification Criteria for the ITU Age Group Aquathlon World Championships. Competitors can enter the event direct not via National Federation but must be members of their national federation and show proof of this at registration."
3. John Thyne is feeling sore and sorry for himself after stacking big time in the run leg yesterday. Boys being boys, John was having a red hot crack at breaking the land speed record when he clipped a cement divider and came down very heavily on his chest. He also lost some bark from various body parts. We wish him a speedy recovery. I am sure he will be moving very gingerly this morning.
4. Jodie McLeod didn't get far on her ride on Saturday. Jodie punctured and then got through 3 tubes trying to repair. No one could find the cause. She eventually gave up, got a cab home and did her ride on Sunday.
5. The Cycle/Tri Mania on Saturday was very well organised with a variety of presentations and event formats to cater to all interests.
6. Good to see Ali Fitch back in action after almost a year of injury/illness frustrations. Ali just crossed the line in 5th in IM Wisconsin.
Cheers,
Robyn
