OTHER NEWS:

1.  Who (female) ended up in the male change tent in T1 at Cairns, then lost/forgot their sunnies and had to go back to retrieve them ... searched through race bags to no avail but then found them on the ground in said male change tent. Lucky the sunnies were pink and therefore could only belong to the only female in the male change tent!  If it weren't for that little incident and a pit stop later on, the said female would have easily cracked the 5hrs for the 70.3!

2. IM 70.3 Boise bike leg was reduced because of the cold (it was snowing) and it was reported that up to seven of the professional men’s field elected to cycle the 19km in their wetsuits!  That race started at midday & it was still freezing.  Won’t be rushing out to enter that one J

3.  Also at IM 70.3 Boise a rare dead heat declared in the men with Matty Reed and Callum Millward breaking the tape together.

4.  The GB team for the London Olympic triathlon was announced over the weekend (take note .. later than the Australian team) and may be appealed - see this report

5.  Lots of riding happening between Mandorah and Darwin these days.

6.  Who was that cyclist who went out late on Saturday evening only to have lights fail out near Howard Springs.  It was a very dark ride home.

7.  Does Lance have his helmet done up or not?  Check 1.05 and 1.30 on this YouTube. It’s also a great look at the location for the Honu race.

8.  Don’t forget uniform order closes Friday.  Don’t miss out, do it now!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN…

… even your husband knows it's just easier to get you a gift certificate to the sporting goods store

… you have a hard time getting up every morning for work, but bolt out of bed at 3:00 am for your race

… you tell your spouse, "no I'm fine, why?" after your long workout and they enquire about the ice packs on both knees and your back

Safe training,
Cheers,
Robyn
