E News 4 February 2014

Hi All,

What a great turn out of members and try a triers at Aquathlon #2!

A huge thank you to RD Belinda Townend and all the volunteers who assisted on the day.  It’s wonderful that our volunteer culture remains intact and you are all so willing to put up your hand when we shout out for assistance. Thank you!

We go off road this weekend at our annual mtb triathlon so it is time to dust the cobwebs off the hybrid if you haven’t already done so.  Those into mtb - ing wait all year for this one to come around and it is a popular event on our calendar!

Don’t miss out, entry closes online at 12 noon on Friday so do it now here.

Our juniors also kicked off again at the weekend with a triathlon at Lake Alexander.  Thanks to junior coordinator Luke Hansen and the parents who helped out, the kids had a great morning.

OTHER NEWS:

1.  You will find all the online entry links to upcoming events on our website.  You can also view the updated pointscore there as well.  Our website is a great resource and we recommend that you use as your first stop for any club information you may require.

2.  Appears most of you are now remembering your timing chip although I hear we didn’t quite make 100% at Aquathlon #2.

3.  It was so hot in Melbourne over the weekend that over 200 competitors voluntarily opted to do a shortened version of Challenge Melbourne.

4.  Triathlon NT advise that entries are now open for both Ray White Darwin NT Sprint and Darwin Long Course Triathlons.

5.  We have a number of people in action at Ironman 70.3 Geelong.  Good luck to you all.  A list will be posted to our Facebook page later this week so if you are heading down to compete at one of the Geelong events do email and give us a heads up.

Cheers,
Robyn
