OTHER NEWS:

1. Congratulations to Mark Anzin who is now officially a fireman. He was awarded the Physical Fitness award for his intake. Mark graduated last week.

2. A few people have asked about qualification for the ITU World Aquathlon Championships. Official answer "Exception to Qualification Criteria: There are no Qualification Criteria for the ITU Age Group Aquathlon World Championships. Competitors can enter the event direct not via National Federation but must be members of their national federation and show proof of this at registration."

3. John Thyne is feeling sore and sorry for himself after stacking big time in the run leg yesterday. Boys being boys, John was having a red hot crack at breaking the land speed record when he clipped a cement divider and came down very heavily on his chest. He also lost some bark from various body parts. We wish him a speedy recovery. I am sure he will be moving very gingerly this morning.

4. Jodie McLeod didn't get far on her ride on Saturday. Jodie punctured and then got through 3 tubes trying to repair. No one could find the cause. She eventually gave up, got a cab home and did her ride on Sunday.

5. The Cycle/Tri Mania on Saturday was very well organised with a variety of presentations and event formats to cater to all interests.

6. Good to see Ali Fitch back in action after almost a year of injury/illness frustrations. Ali just crossed the line in 5th in IM Wisconsin.

Cheers,
Robyn
