TRIATHLON NT NEWS:

1. POSITION VACANT: Triathlon NT is seeking an interested person to act as Event Coordinator for a major event this year. There is funding available for this casual position. Interested please contact eo@triathlonnt.com.au for position description.

OTHER NEWS:

1. Rob Weatherald is in good holiday form. He came in 5th overall in the long course category of the Sam White Memorial Aquathlon in Adelaide. The elite event winners were Christopher Rawlings (34.40) and Sarah Rawlings (37.00). The elites do 1.7/500/1.7/500/1.7 !

2. Phil Blumberg also raced in the Adelaide aquathlon. Having to pay a $45 entry fee made him appreciate how good we have it up here. Shhhh !

3. Popular former Triathlon NT president Amanda Donohoe heads out of town this week Melbourne bound. We wish Amanda all the best for her stint in the big city.

4. News is in that our club vice president Mick Outhred is departing Darwin early next month after 3.5 years in the Territory. Mick's contribution will be missed, especially his work on our club calendar.

5. It's always interesting to see what shape people are in at the beginning of the year. Ryoko Jones and Simon Cruickshank are looking speedy and have obviously been putting in over the break; Lisa Quinell moved up a lane at swimming; Nerida Godfrey is on the comeback trail after a chest infection; James Geddes is of very trim appearance; Rob Brooks has IM fit stamped on his forehead; Brett Verity is getting the body back in shape; Grant Preddy is running well; Ali Croser is riding well; Kyle Gear has headed down south for training and racing and she who will remain nameless got dropped in the latte lane at swimming !

6. A reminder to get your entries in for the Australian Triathlon Championships (OD) which have been moved to Canberra on the Australia Day weekend. More info http://res.au.eventdirector.net/TACT/SITES/713/default.asp?PageID=11671
