Hi All,

We are back to dry season madness when there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. It's also the time when we are inundated with friends and family ... hey, who wouldn't want to escape those seriously cold down south temperatures ... just wish they wouldn't laugh so loud when we squeeze into the wetsuit at the pool !

With so much happening in and around Darwin some serious choices have to be made ... City to Surf, Katherine Ultra Challenge, Fannie Bay Swims, along with the upcoming events on the tri calendar or to yield to the temptation to go camping or just relax & watch the sun come up or go down. Most just seem to juggle and manage the lot !!! Enjoy.

OTHER NEWS:

1. We have a huge group heading for Cairns this weekend. Those lining up for the ironman distance event include: Heath Porter, Jac Crofton, Michelle Mitchell and Tony Burns. Jesse Mortensen from Alice Springs will also be there. We hear the gun team of Spanky, Peter Gwynne and Dean Nankivell may have pulled the pin on their entry.

2. Those heading to Cairns for the Half include: Rosie Sullivan, Peta Jeggo, Ben Sanders, Karen Wilson, Jane Marie Kerslake, Daryl Stanley, Bertram Birk, Debbie Geertshuis, Jamie Tomlinson, David Croser, Liam Johnson, Ali Fitch, Claire Goldsmith, Faith Marshall, Rowena Eastick, Grant Preddy, Belinda Birk and Louise Ogden.

3. Unfortunately for Phil Blumberg and James Geddes, both are out injured so no Cairns. Anyone missing from the list?

4. More photos from Arafura from Epic Moments: http://www.onlinepictureproof.com/epicmoments/gallery/albums/36119
5. Athlete tracker for IM Brazil didn't work .. boring !

6. Comrades Marathon results "server too busy" this morning but they did have an awesome athlete tracker going for race day ... I think WTC need to have a chat with the Comrades timing people.

7. Organisers tell us the Fannie Bay Swims are going ahead on 26 June 2011.

8. Entry for next weekend's City to Surf available in NT News.

9. Greg Kahl will be visiting Darwin for a wedding soon. He'll be here 7 - 12 June & word is he would have stayed longer but has to see Knee Specialist Dr Peter Annear on 13 June 2011. Apparently the injury he sustained when struck by a vehicle riding his bike pre Callala Bay Triathlon December 2008 has run its course and cannot go on any longer without surgery. A keen hockey player, he only got two games in for 2011 season and his attempt to right the wrong of last year's Anaconda bike failure looks real hazy.

10. Good feedback post Arafura: a friend of one of our members did a race last week in PNG. He says they are mightily impressed with the way that NT tri goes about their business.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN ...

... you're too tired for hanky-panky on a Friday night but up for a century ride on Saturday morning
... a Power Bar starts tasting better than a Snickers
... you are tempted to do your long rides in togs to get ride of those odd tan lines

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
