Robyn's E News 21 March 2012

OTHER NEWS:

1. Major roadworks are commencing this week for the Inpex project. Cyclists are advised to avoid Channel Island Road completely and to find alternative training venues as conditions will be dangerous for cycling.

2. Our members excelled at Ironman 70.3 Singapore. It was a tough bike course with a number of tight technical turns as well as long stretches into the wind. The run could aptly be described as brutal.

3. Dave McLeod and Brian Hannon knew before the Singapore start that they were pulling the pin at the end of the bike leg. They then did a great job of cheering home the rest of the crew.

4. Level 1 Club Weightlifting / Sports Power Coach Licence Course takes place 26-27 May 2012 & a Level 2 in June. Interested? More info here

5. Darwin Cycle Club advise that the velodrome is being used on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday evenings for cycle training. Further info here

6. We wish Jason Jones, Heath Porter and Sue Parora smooth seas, tailwinds and pleasant conditions on Sunday when they tackle Ironman Melbourne. Good luck !!

7. Appears the stork is going to be busy again this year.

Safe training,
Cheers,
Robyn
