Robyn's E News 10 October 2011

Hi All,

What a super turnout for our Reverse Order Triathlon yesterday. Great to see so many of our new members keen to have a go at the different format. Our more experienced triathletes were also out in droves to have a crack at the unusual run, bike, swim format for a change of pace.

A huge thank you to Race Director Jac Crofton who drew this different format altogether for us on the day. Also a big thank you to those volunteers who helped out on roster and those who just jumped in and helped. We really appreciate your contribution.

Darwin Life Saving Club members looked after us in the water and we thank them for providing water safety.

RESULTS:

1. Reverse Order Triathlon, Lake Alexander, 3km run, 13km bike, 300m swim

It got a little chaotic at the finish line yesterday and there are some hiccups with results.

The attached spreadsheet is the best we can do with results at this stage. I’m particularly keen to get the finish order correct (for pointscore purposes). Available photos have been looked at & some individuals consulted already. Please let me know by tomorrow if there are any glaring errors in the finish order (see attached).

2. Ironman World Championships, Hawaii, 3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run

1. There are a number of significant “0” birthdays happening at the moment. Mark Anzin and Tony Cox are among those now officially up an age group.

2. Loved watching Crowie win at Kona. Oz reps, Pete Jacobs and Luke McKenzie also made top 10. The girl’s race was also super exciting.

3. Our secretary Graeme Parsons now has the plaster off his arm. We hope it won’t be long and he will be back in action.

4. Uniform order has now closed.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN …

… you often talk about “hammer” and “bricks” but you aren’t referring to construction
… you often show up to work in the morning with goggle imprints around your eyes
… the front door of your house resembles a transition area

Safe Training,

Cheers,

Robyn
