Hi All,

Our juniors were in action at Lake Alexander yesterday morning. The junior committee are wizards at setting up the various courses and with the help of many volunteers, provide the kids with a very safe environment to enjoy their triathlon.

Sponsors Schneider Electric's Michael Briggs, Mitch from NT Elite Cycles & Dave McLeod President of Triathlon NT were on hand to see the juniors receive their kit bags. Our sincere thanks to the junior sponsors, the kids look awesome in their T shirts and the bags were well received.

OTHER NEWS:

1. Travelling away to race? Those of you competing where race number belts are required are reminded that I have some Scody race belts available for club members. Drop me an email if you would like one.

2. Rob Brooks had a tough ride on Saturday. Couple of punctures, broken spoke, lost a favourite water bottle and broke his sunnies. Life wasn't meant to be easy !

3. Weekend form guide: David McLeod was cycling way too fast; Jason Jones was spotted ... wait for this: with Chad Anderson sucking on his wheel; Shaye Hatty was smiling her way through IM training; Simon Jeggo was comfortable in the Saturday group; Lucie Hardiman's big swim kick is working and Kyle Gear wasn't where he was supposed to be.

4. It was a pretty rough swim at Geelong yesterday by all accounts and jellyfish added to the challenge.

5. There's lots happening on the cycling front here in Darwin. Check out the website http://www.darwin.cycling.org.au/ for more info. The club has changed its format for the Crits on Thursday nights. As part of these changes they now have a group to do a Time Trial, and this can be done on full tri bikes, disks, etc.

6. I'm pretty sure Col Smith was the first to coffee again on Saturday !

7. Media hound: Junior triathlon had mentions in both the NT News and Darwin Sun. There weren't any familiar faces in the social pages yesterday, Shaye and Ali must have had a quiet weekend for a change !

8. Photos from NT Aquathlon Champs and yesterday's junior event are up on Flickr. Enjoy!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN ...

... you are very particular about what sox you can wear on a 2 hour run
... you drink more in a day than most people drink in a week

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
