OTHER NEWS:

1. Media Hound: 1. See attached pdf on Tim's come from behind effort on Sunday; 2. Details of Stu's swimming milestone at http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2010/03/30/135781_ntnews.html

2. Good news: Cadel Evans' new team has an invite for the Tour de France.

3. Wedding bells: Barry Sullivan and Kerrie Gannon have a dry season wedding planned. Congratulations! Barry has held numerous positions on our committees over the years (including that of club president) and we are very happy to hear this news.

4. Alice Springs Triathlon Club are dedicating their upcoming Ultra Triathlon in memory of Tavis Johannsen. The event will take place on Monday 26 April 2010 2km swim, 60km bike, 15km run. For further details see attached flyer. Tavis was a keen competitor, supporter and sponsor of triathlon in the Territory.

5. Due to health reasons, Garry Silk didn't actually get to do the Guam Xterra.

6. After Sunday's ironman performance, Tony Abbott declared: "To run the country what you need is stamina and grit and willpower. I'm not suggesting Kevin Rudd doesn't have these things but I've dug deep into the wells of stamina and grit and willpower today."

7. News that Kyle Gear had forgotten his passport and the mad dash to get it to Brisbane before his plane left for the States reminded us of a similar incident a few years ago when Matt Hubber almost didn't make a trip to NZ. What is it with working at CycleZone that makes guys forget their passports??

8. Midweek form guide: Rosie Sullivan is back getting the latte lane in shape at swimming; Bec Thyne has a great run pace happening and Nerida Godfrey the latest to come down with the dreaded lurgy.

9. From personal experience this morning: It's confirmed - Darwin is the broken glass capital of the world.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...

... you understand that "more is not better"
... you have booked flights or accommodation for a triathlon that is still over six months away

... you think there are only two seasons in a year - racing and off !

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
