Hi All,

The weather is definitely changing. You may have also noticed it's getting quieter out around Lee Point in the mornings these days. Thinking the campers at East Point should soon be moving on as well..... and then it might rain! We need some serious dust settling rain. Bring back clean and green !

COMMITTEE NEWS:

1. Darwin Triathlon Club Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday 28 September 08 at Palmerston Pool prior to event.

2. All committee positions will be declared vacant. Please contact club secretary Kylie Sheffield at trikylie@aapt.net.au for further information on nominating for a position.

3. With a view to the future we are still actively seeking a nomination for vice president. Sounds like you, please get in touch with Kylie or speak to one of the current committee members.

4. Good news is we have heard from a couple of people for the general committee. If timing systems are your area of interest we would also love to hear from you as well.

TRIATHLON NT NEWS:

1. Triathlon NT Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday 12 October 2008 at Lake Alexander prior to event.

2. All committee positions will be declared vacant. Please contact acting president Amanada Donohoe 0417 085 443 for further information on positions.

3. Triathlon NT is a completely separate committee to that of Darwin Triathlon Club. It is fair to say this committee is more governance oriented, applies for funding in its capacity as the peak sporting body for triathlon, is concerned with the development of the sport of triathlon in the NT and ensures our NT championship events are conducted & our events take place in accordance with Triathlon Australia guidelines. Committee members can be drawn from members from all areas of the Northern Territory.

FOR SALE / WANTED ETC:

1. WANTED: Road bike for female (5'6" tall), bike size approx. mid 50's, will pay up to $500 or more if set-up for triathlons with reasonable running gear. Contact Alexandria 0414 875 382 mob or 8901 4988 work.

OTHER NEWS:

1. A number of our members will be in action at the Athletics NT 10km Road NT Championships Race Sunday morning (21 September 2008), starting at 7:00am. The event will be held at East Point in Darwin, starting and finishing at the Lake Alexander carpark. Cost $15.00. Further info www.ntathletics.org.au Good luck to those competing.

2. Have you registered for National Ride to Work Day yet? It's taking place on Wednesday 15 October 08. Free coffee and Bakers Delights yummies will be served at the Roma Bar for registered participants from 7.00 to 8.30. To register go to www.ride2work.com.au .

3. Mountain bikers among us may be interested in the Gibb River MTB Challenge 18-22 May 09. Further info: www.thegibbchallenge.net

4. The organisers of the Kununurra Ord Valley Muster Triathlon (750/20/5) have set date for next year's event - Saturday 9 May 09. Note, that's a day before Arafura Games Triathlon.
